Description: When Leipzig, Germany's goth nightclub Laufsteg closed in the mid-eighties, new owners were quick to snap the place up, but they needed a name. Wanting to continue as a haunt for the bat caver crowd, they settled on Gorgoneion Nächte. The gorgoneion is a powerful ancient Greek apotropaic amulet featuring the head of the Gorgon Medusa, designed to ward off evil, danger, or misfortune. Characterized by snakes, sharp teeth, and sometimes wings, this protective symbol appeared on artifacts from 6000 BC through Roman times, commonly found on armor, doors, coins, and pottery. While Gorgoneion Nächte was only around about a decade, it was a hot spot for everyone from mainstream goths to those who just showed up for industrial and EDM nights.
Description: Embrace the dark side of Leipzig with this "Gorgoneion Nächte" (Gorgon Nights) design. Featuring a visceral, horror-inspired Medusa with piercing eyes and serpents, this piece captures the spirit of Germany’s gothic and industrial underground. Perfect for fans of dark mythology, retro horror posters, and the Leipzig Wave-Gotik-Treffen (WGT) scene. Stay spooky and protect yourself with the gaze of the Gorgon.
