Description: The Osaka Tigers were a Japanese professional baseball team founded on December 10, 1935, playing their first season in 1936. In 1940, amid anti-foreign sentiment, the Tigers changed the name to the Hanshin Tigers, and in 1947 changed the name back to Osaka Tigers. The team name was once again changed back to Hanshin Tigers in 1961, and remains the team name to this day, making them the second-oldest professional club in Japan. The Tigers' home field has been Koshien Stadium since day one, a venue considered to be sacred ground not just fans of the Tigers, but for Japanese baseball fans everywhere.

Description: An ink and oil paint map of Little Osaka (now officially re-named "Sawtelle Japantown") that I made for "California Fool's Gold" in 2009. It got a little wrinkled because it was raining during the exploration. https://ericbrightwell.com/2009/12/09/california-fools-gold-exploring-little-osaka-%E3%83%AA%E3%83%88%E3%83%AB%E5%A4%A7%E9%98%AA/

Description: The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes (大阪近鉄バファローズ, Ōsaka Kintetsu Bafarōzu) were a Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) team based in Osaka, Japan, which was in the Pacific League. In 2005 the team was merged with the Orix BlueWave to become the team now known as the Orix Buffaloes. The team played in Fujiidera Stadium, and later in Osaka Dome. Although the team won four Pacific League championships, they lost all four Japan Series in which they played. The team's batting lineup was known as Itemae Dasen (いてまえ打線).
