A view of the Quai St Étienne, part of the Vieux Bassin at Honfleur on the Normandy coast of France. In the centre is the old church of St Étienne (St Stephen) which gives its name to the Quay. This is one of the oldest buildings in the town dating from the time when the medieval walls were built In 1432 it was enlarged by order of the Duke of Bedford during the English occupation of the region. Boats moored in the harbour at Emsworth on the coast of Hampshire. This lovely town and harbour lie at the sheltered northern end of Chichester Harbour - a large inlet between Portsmouth and Chichester. A century ago it was well known for its oysters which were served at top restaurants but this industry went ito decline. It was also famous for ship and boat building and also rope making. The harbour is now largely used for sailing and is a pleasant place to sit, drink coffee and relax. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200

The town was once known for its shipbuilding and rope making - and it is said that some of Sir Francis Drake's warships were built here.
