These medallion / mandala doodles don't come with shortcuts ... They take over your whole day and make your fingers ache, but that's the way I like them. A soft sage green & cream version.

Been feeling completely overwhelmed lately, like there is no end to my to-do list and the precious and important parts of my life are passing me by while I run and run and get nowhere... So what do I do? I take refuge in a doodle, because it is one of the places I find calm and things start to make sense again. Of course, that won't help with the piles of laundry, the gas bottles that need filling, the files that need uploading / formatting / fixing, the bills that need paying, the mails that need answering and the precious children who need lots and lots of love, but it just creates this small oasis of peace in my day and I need it...

I asked my Dad what he thought I should call this one, so the title is his. He told me he sees stained glass, something a little bit gothic, a pattern a little bit art deco. : )

Mixing some geometric patterns that I enjoy with my own doodled patterns and pretty colors and gradients. I decided to do this second, lighter version, as I couldn't choose between them.

Yesterday I was given some pomegranates - beautiful, breathtaking objects that they are - so of course I had to make something of them. (Thank you, Ryan and Karen!) A lot of things about this pattern are outside of my comfort zone, I tend towards blues & greens, soft pastels and neutrals, and this is, well, red and magenta and super contrasty and bold. My adviser here at home (by which I mean my wonderful daughter) tells me it's okay to work outside of my comfort zone, sometimes.
