Chief Gasoline - What Idaho Makes Makes Idaho 1939 Baseball T-Shirt

Chief Gasoline was created by the Inland Refinery in Spokane, Washington, which operated between 1939 and 1957. Inland had plans to open branded service stations in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, each customized by state such as Washington Chief, Oregon Chief, etc. Inland opened the first station in Spokane and a second in Aberdeen, but shortly thereafter Inland was bought out by Wasatch Oil which scraped the Chief Gasoline plans altogether. The porcelain signs and other materials were all produced and ready for the new service stations and while most ended up in the landfill, a few survived making them prized collectibles of the gas stations that never were.
