PM Canadien Chainsaws 1947 Baseball T-Shirt
Beaver Baseball T-Shirt
designed and sold by JCD666
Vancouver-based Power Machinery Ltd. (PM), got into the chainsaw market in 1947 and by 1950 had put nearly 18,000 saws into the market. PM began selling the Rocket, a one-man chainsaw, in 1952 and by this time had broken into the international market. Wanting a piece of central Canada's lucrative pulp market, especially Quebec, PM created a saw for that market and dubbed it 'Canadien.' The marketing ploy worked, and PM Canadien saws flew off the shelves both in Quebec and on the world market. In 1962, PM was sold to Bristol Aero of England, who moved the factory to a hangar at the Vancouver Airport. They kept the PM name and continued by focusing on expanding and marketing the highly successful Canadien line.
