Classic calligraphy of Mirza G. Esfahani, a 19th Century Persian master of Nasta‘liq calligraphy. This calligraphic style is called “Siyah Mashq,” and can be loosely translated to “Ink Drills,” because the final product is a sheet so covered in writing, it looks as if a calligrapher were executing writing drills in black ink.
