Meerkat Mother and Baby - by Nadya Neklioudova Baseball T-Shirt

These meerkats, a mother and baby, are part of a big meerkat family that lives in the Kalahari desert in Namibia. The baby meerkat wants to run off and explore - his mother places a reassuring paw on his back, as if to say that she will protect her little one. This sweet family was photographed in Africa in the wild by my father, and I created this artwork based on his image. 100% original! Scratchboard is done on a black inked board, by scratching through the black in tiny lines and revealing the white clay underneath, creating the drawing - that's why it looks a little bit like an engraving in reverse.
