While attempts are being made to relocate rhinos to safer areas, the harsh reality is that poachers continue to kill rhinos for their horns at a rate that will drive the species to extinction. To avoid this, poaching - and poachers - have to be stopped. In 2016, in South Africa alone, poachers killed 1,054 rhinos for their horns - that's nearly three a day. The poaching is continuing in 2017 - recently, 23 rhinos were killed in just 12 days in KwaZulu-Natal province. Conservationists warn that a tipping point is imminent, at which stage there will be fewer rhinos being born than killed, leading to extinction...
