Drawn using one of my own photographs as reference, I used mostly Sakura pigma micron marker pens and a brush pen for the darkest areas. Sika deer (Cervus nippon), spotted deer or Japanese deer is a deer species native to East Asia which has been introduced to many parts of the world, including England. Sika deer do not loose their spots upon reaching maturity, but in some subspecies these spots are rarely visible, as seen here. Their coat ranged from a reddish brown to black and occasionally individuals can be found with white fur. Stags have antlers, usually forked.
