Fantasy Forest in Watercolor, by Conni Schaftenaar For the brief summer session, our watercolor class is focusing on FUN! We are using drip art, spatter art, textural art, using various tools and methodologies to do something different. I have several works in process, in this one I used Pebeo Mask to draw my trees. Once the mask was dry, I added in the sectional colors at the top to make the tree tops, very intense and wet, and sprinkled salt on those sections. Then I allowed the lower section to drip and run. After the initial drying, I went back in with the darker blue to add in dripped shadows under the trees. Loose Landscape WIP, Step 2, by Conni Schaftenaar I'm interested in learning more about how to do loose landscapes in watercolor. This technique I'm trying involves first putting down colors on the paper in a wet-into-wet method and letting it dry. This 2nd step involved beginning to establish some trees and horizon lines using the layers of colors established in the first step. See all four steps on my gallery.
