Description: Part of a collection of Australian animals by Englishman John Gould, 1804 - 1881. Renown for his studies in Australian animals, particularly in Tasmania where he sailed to from England to study native animals and birds. He was also an accomplished artist, sketching and hand painting what he saw with the assistance of his wife, Elizabeth.
Description: An ant crosses your carpet. A spider weaves a pattern older than mammals beneath your stairs. Just nod, breathe, and think, “Good. It’s all still here. The forest, the mountains, the desert. At home in my home.” The sterile white box is the stranger. Not the ant. Not the spider. www.cryptonaturalist.com
Description: The common loon or great northern diver (Gavia immer) is a large member of the loon, or diver, family of birds. Breeding adults have a plumage that includes a broad black head and neck with a greenish, purplish, or bluish sheen, blackish or blackish-grey upperparts, and pure white underparts except some black on the undertail coverts and vent. Non-breeding adults are brownish with a dark neck and head marked with dark grey-brown. Their upperparts are dark brownish-grey with an unclear pattern of squares on the shoulders, and the underparts, lower face, chin, and throat are whitish. The sexes look alike, though males are significantly heavier than females. During the breeding season, loons live on lakes and other waterways in Canada.
Description: The Deer A symbolic silhouette design of a single deer, where inside the silhouette lies the imagery of a lush forest with tall trees, resembling the deer standing gracefully in a side view. This unique visual emphasizes the deep connection between wildlife and their natural home. The deer here serves as a symbol reminding us that animals deserve freedom and a proper life in their true home, the forest.
Description: The honey badger (Mellivora capensis), also known as the ratel (/ˈreɪtəl/ or /ˈrɑːtəl/), is a mammal widely distributed in Africa, Southwest Asia, and the Indian subcontinent. Because of its wide range and occurrence in a variety of habitats, it is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. Illustrated by Paddy Morton
