Arkham Asylum Cards
Description: The "ARKHAM STATE HOSPITAL DEPT. CORRECTIONS" design evokes a dark and captivating atmosphere of the famous psychiatric hospital from the Batman universe. With a severe typeface and dark colors, it conveys the eerie and mysterious ambiance associated with Gotham's most iconic villains.
Description: Arkham is the home of Miskatonic University, which features prominently in many of Lovecraft's works. The institution finances the expeditions in the novellas, At the Mountains of Madness (1936) and The Shadow Out of Time (1936). Walter Gilman, of "The Dreams in the Witch House" (1933), attends classes at the university. Other notable institutions in Arkham are the Arkham Historical Society and the Arkham Sanitarium. It is said in "Herbert West—Reanimator" that the town was devastated by a typhoid outbreak in 1905.
Description: Juniper Hill is a fictional psychiatric facility that is featured in many King novels, including It, Needful Things, and The Dark Half. The asylum has been home to a number of King’s villains — after all what's spookier than mismanaged asylum? But the facility is completely fictional. There are actually a couple of real places in Maine that are named “Juniper Hill,” including a middle school and boutique hotel, they have no connection to the asylum described in King’s novels or Castle Rock.
Description: A vintage-style travel poster promoting historic tours of Gotham's premier psychiatric facility, Arkham Asylum. The ominous illustration features the gothic mansion perched on a rocky cliff under a stormy, lightning-filled sky, viewed through heavy iron gates adorned with a bat insignia.
