Miles Ahead Cards
Description: Founded in Portland, Oregon, in 1929 by Leland James, Consolidated Freightways (CF) grew from a small regional trucking operation into one of America's largest freight carriers. Known for its distinctive red, green, and white trucks, CF helped revolutionize the industry through innovative equipment designs, including the development of the Freightliner cab-over-engine truck. By the 1950s, CF was rapidly expanding nationwide, embracing its advertising slogan, “Miles Ahead,” which reflected its commitment to innovation, efficiency, and dependable service. Affectionately nicknamed “Corn Flakes” by truckers, CF became a fixture on American highways for decades before ceasing operations in September 2002, ending 73 years of trucking history.
