Description: There is a feeling of lightness in the poetry of Octavio Paz, yet it is profound. Even when he uses "ordinary words", like asphalt, they acquire spiritual qualities. What looks like a love poem might as well be a meditation about death or the essence of the universe. Paz was celebrated during his life both in his native Mexico and internationally. He won the most prestigious awards you can win, like Miguel De Cervantes Prize and the Nobel Prize in Literature.
