Soviet Dogs Cards
Description: This Dogs of War illustration features the Russian KV2. It was a massive tank in its day. A huge 152mm howitzer was mounted in a battle ship style turret. It was slow, top heavy and cumbersome but almost impervious to attack. These dogs appear to run down a locals bicycle. They must have not been looking where they were going!
Description: Laika (1954 – 3 November 1957) was a Soviet space dog who became one of the first animals in space, and the first animal to orbit the Earth. Laika, a stray mongrel from the streets of Moscow, was selected to be the occupant of the Soviet spacecraft Sputnik 2 that was launched into outer space on 3 November 1957.
