This is the early part of the story where the narrator first comes across a figure in clay that his "somewhat extravagant imagination yielded simultaneous pictures of an octopus, a dragon, and a human caricature.... A pulpy, tentacled head surmounted a grotesque and scaly body with rudimentary wings."
Description: Every fall, the Fighting Cthulhus storm the pitch beneath eldritch skies, tentacles flailing, tridents gleaming. Miskatonic chants echo through the fog: “Fhtagn-A-right!”—a rally cry older than sanity. Freshman quarterback Ezekiel Marsh, eyes glowing faintly green, hurls a spiral that bends space-time. The rival team vanishes mid-play, swallowed by a portal to R’lyeh. Coach Dagon grunts approval. Victory is declared, though no one remembers the score.
