Jimenez was a slick Colombian veteran with more than 80 pro fights, but despite being tough he was at the end of a long career, plus no match for a young, powerful puncher like Gómez. Gómez dropped about six pounds to make the 122-pound limit, but crushing body work made the fight an easy one for him. Jimenez did his best to duck and shift his way around the ring and away from Gómez's power, but it didn't work for long.
