Pontiac was an American automobile brand introduced as a companion make for GM's more expensive line of Oakland automobiles in 1925, but Pontiac overtook Oakland in popularity and supplanted its parent brand entirely by 1933. From Chieftons to Bonnevilles and Tempests to Trans Ams, Pontiac's models were always an exciting mix of performance and style which gave them an unmistakable brand identity that was often envied by her sister divisions.
