Channel-billed Cuckoo Crewneck Sweatshirt

The channel-billed cuckoo is the largest cuckoo. Between August and October each year, they migrate from Indonesia and New Guinea to northern and eastern Australia. The cuckoos lay their eggs in the nests of magpies, currawongs, crows and ravens. The young cuckoos grow faster and demand all of the food leaving any other chicks in the nest to starve. In February or March they return north to New Guinea and Indonesia. They are sometimes also known as the storm-bird. Photo taken in Drummoyne, NSW on a Nikon Coolpix P610.
