This drawing was the second with a medical theme. It was one of two drawings made as a thought process..... the subsequent oil painting more literal in content was exhibited in an exhibition in Sydney entitled "Healing Hands". I was working on a private commission for an orthopedic surgeon - when the exhibition "Healing Hands" came up... he allowed me to join him and the medical team during a couple of cases at St Andrews hospital in South Australia This theme what was to become two major projects. The first a 42 piece collection focusing on staff in theatre at Flinders Hospital Then a residency at Adelaide University School of Medicine in which 59 luminaries were painted and drawn at work..... in separate paintings and drawings...
