I love this type of subject and enjoyed getting the detail and textures of the bricks and rendering. The sign used to advertise a Public House called 'The Bowler's Tavern'. The sign really has seen better days.

Watercolour From references I took of Burn Braes in Biggar, Lanarkshire. I really loved the wonky fence and the fact that the roof slates were falling off the roof. The roof has long since been repaired (as has the fence).

Watercolour Spent a weekend at Pittenweem, hoping to get some lovely sunny shots of the harbour and the old boats. It snowed non stop all weekend. Looking back, my references were actually pretty good. Nice snowy shots....

This was a watercolour from references I took at The Sanctuary of Aphrodite in Cyprus. I just love the stonework and the reflections of light on the cobbles. Great fun to paint.

Lovely old bridge in the lovely town of Biggar. 'London's big, but Biggar's biggar'. This is in the area which I grew up and where I went to High School. My daughter is the figure on the bridge.
