The Apollo program, also known as Project Apollo, ran from 1961 to 1972, and was the third United States human spaceflight program, which succeeded in preparing and landing the first humans on the Moon from 1968 to 1972. It was first conceived during Dwight D. Eisenhower's administration as a three-person spacecraft to follow the one-person Project Mercury, which put the first Americans in space. Apollo was later dedicated to President John F. Kennedy's national goal for the 1960s of "landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth" in an address to Congress on May 25, 1961. It was the third US human spaceflight program to fly, preceded by the two-person Project Gemini, conceived in 1961 to extend spaceflight capability.

The Kubrick's Moon Landing Design is inspired by the decades old conspiracy theory that suggests that acclaimed film director and enigmatic recluse, Stanley Kubrick, helped NASA to fake the Apollo 11 moon landings. While on the surface (of the moon??) this particular theory may appear implausible, supporters point to the numerous clues and anomalies they believe Kubrick inserted in his later films as proof that the acclaimed 2001 A Space Odyssey director did indeed help commit the greatest fraud of the 20th Century.

Driving the moon buggy on the moon after flying to the moon on a Saturn 5 all the while sitting in the lunar lander. The Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV) is a battery-powered four-wheeled rover used on the Moon in the last three missions of the American Apollo program (15, 16, and 17) during 1971 and 1972. It is popularly called the Moon buggy, a play on the term dune buggy. Built by Boeing, each LRV has a mass of 460 pounds (210 kg) without payload. It could carry a maximum payload of 1,080 pounds (490 kg), including two astronauts, equipment, and lunar samples, and was designed for a top speed of 8 miles per hour (13 km/h), although it achieved a top speed of 11.2 miles per hour (18.0 km/h) on its last mission, Apollo 17.
