Amiga World Magazine was a print publication dedicated to the popular Amiga computer platform. It was a prominent Amiga magazine, particularly in the United States, and was published out of Massachusetts from 1985 until April 1995. The first several issues were distributed before the computer was available for sale to the public. The Amiga was a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985 with the original model as one of a number of computers with 16- or 32-bit processors, 256 KB or more of RAM, mouse-based GUIs, and significantly improved graphics and audio compared to previous 8-bit systems. Based on the 68000 processor, the Amiga differed from its contemporaries through the inclusion of accelerated graphics hardware.

Impossible Mission is a video game originally for the Commodore 64 published by Epyx in 1984. The gameplay mechanics vary from platform to adventure and includes digitized speech. Impossible Mission casts the player in the role of a secret agent infiltrating an enemy stronghold, is widely considered one of the best games for several platforms.

In the early days of personal computers, most computer stores were small, independent shops, and not exactly friendly to first time buyers. Doppler Computer Superstores attempted to change that in 1993 with a single retail location in Vancouver, British Columbia. Set up like more of a traditional consumer electronics store, the brightly lit, spacious interiors carried everything a PC user could want, and had a knowledgeable staff that was happy to help. From that single location, Doppler grew to become a retail giant with locations in both Canada and the US with sales in excess of $150 million. In the '90s sci-fi TV series, Sliders, Quinn and Wade both worked at the Doppler Computer Superstore, Quinn as a technician, and Wade in sales.

Dragon Wars is a fantasy role-playing video game published in 1989 that featured a first-rate story and sophisticated graphics. The player starts the game with a party of four characters, who can be either the default characters or ones created by the player. Alternatively, the player could import characters from The Bard's Tale trilogy. The story begins with you and your party sailing across uncharted seas in search of a legendary paradise called Dilmun where the king has declared magic illegal. While docked at a harbor in Dilmun, you are arrested on suspicion of spell casting. Imprisoned and stripped of everything but your wits, you are sentenced to life in a cesspool called Purgatory. Magic is your only salvation.
