It was a sunny day, November 8th, 2015 in Friedrichshafen at Lake Constance, Germany. Close to sunset and just before our session at the "Wunderwelten-Festival" at the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus (GZH) started. The image shows the beach just behind the GZH. Canon EOS 70D, 1/320 s, f7.1, 15 mm, ISO 100.

Despite an alcoholic father who left her family when she was still very young, and a mother who made a living by doing laundry, Constance Talmadge escaped her past and became one of the biggest stars of the silent film era. Her friend Anita Loos, who wrote many screenplays for her, appreciated her "humor and her irresponsible way of life." Imagery selected based on aesthetic and resolution, and modified to negate the imperfections of time.

This has been a fantastic stormy day with lots of clouds, little rain (at least where I have been) and a bright sun. The little rainbow is somewhere over Switzerland. Looking over the grape orchards towards Meersburg in April. The historic town of Meersburg can be seen on the right shore of the lake. The ferry connects Meersburg with Constance. A 15 minutes ride. The construction of the new palace began in 1710. The palace has been the residence of the Prince-Bishop of Constance. Later it used for different types of schools, and has been also a prison. After World War II French troops used it as barrack. In 2012 the New Palace Meersburg reopened after restoration. The builung is right in the heart of Meersburg, an old town on the north shore of the Lake Constance. In Meersburg there are a lot of interesting things to see, like the old castle, the medieval town, and the state winery. Meersburg has two harbours. Saint Conrad of Constance, from a 19th Century Swiss holy card. The text below the saint reads "St. Conradus, OPN" or "ora pro nobis". In English is reads "St. Conrad, pray for us". St. Conrad is depicted with a spider hanging over a chalice. During Mass one day a spider dropped into the chalice of Precious Blood; though Conrad believed all spiders were poisonous, his love of communion overcame his fear, and he drank the Blood, spider and all.
