Said near-infrared light makes the trees and grass appear white (where the sun hits them, so they can actually reflect the infrared light), while the sky is almost black. The ball of cells (yellow) of the embryo is known as a morula, a cluster of almost identical, rounded cells, each containing a central nucleus. This 16-cell embryo is about three days old. It is at the early stage of transformation from a single cell to a human composed of millions of cells. The cells multiply by repeated cleavage divisions (mitosis) and will form a hollow ball of cells (the blastocyst). Pancreatic secretory cells. Coloured transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of a slice through a cluster of enzyme-secreting acinar cells from a pancreas. Most of the pancreas is made of cells like this, which produce large quantities of digestive enzymes in a secretion called zymogen. The zymogen is stored in large round secretory granules (zymogen granules, blue), before being exported from the cell and carried by pancreatic ducts to the small intestine. Zymogen is secreted as an inactive 'proenzyme', which is only activated once it reaches the intestine, to prevent self-digestion of the pancreas.
