Launched in July 1957 this tiny car that evolved for use in the narrow city streets very quickly earned the name of, ‘the people’s car’. Measuring just over 2.5 metres long (9 feet) and powered by a 479 cc two-cylinder, air-cooled engine, it was considered to be the first true city car for the Italian driving population.

Abarth is an Italian car company that produces a variety of racing cars, founded by Carlo Abarth on 15 April 1949 in Turin. This company was part of the Fiat Group in 1971, since 2012 Albart joined FCA. Stellantis has incorporated Albart in 2021. Its industrial center is in Stellantis Italy, Turin.

ABARTH 500 500 Back

The popular car was manufactured in Yugoslavia until 1980s and is best known locally as "Fica" or "Ficko". It closely resembles Italian Fiat 600 and Spanish Seat 600. A must-have accessory for all old car enthusiasts across the globe.

Test Pilot design

Fiat’s diminutive city car set the standard for four wheeled micro cars in the ‘Sixties and ‘Seventies. It was no surprise that enthusiastic Italian drivers wanted a little more power and performance, and predictably the Abarth tuning company obliged, building tuned Fiat 500s with larger engines from 1966 until 1971. The Abarth cars had either 595 or 695cc versions of the Fiat twin cylinder motor, good for 30 and 37bhp
