The parish church of St Matthew at Midgeham in West Berkshire viewed from the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal. There had been a chapel at Midgeham since the early 1300s but the parish church seen here was not built and consecrated until the late 1850s. Commisioned by the local squire, it was designed by John Johnson in the Early English style which was very popular in the Victorian period. The image has been finished in the style of a coloured pencil drawing.

This is an image of the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew the Apostle in the city of Wells, Somerset, England. There are many cathedrals in England dating back to medieval times, but this is described as being the first that was built in a purely gothic style. Apparently, construction stated in 1175 and continued into the 1400s. It's strange to think that there were people who toiled for years to build this remarkable edifice but in their lifetimes they were not able to see it completed. Even so, it remains as a symbol of faith to all who worked in its construction, they were truly craftsmen.

Looking over the town square to the monastery at Alcobaça in Portugal. This was the first Gothic building to be constructed in the country. It was founded by King Alfonso Henriques in 1147 as a church and became a Cistercian monastery in 1153. It was finally consecrated in 1262. The monks here dedicated their lives to meditation and writing illuminated manuscripts including a history of Portugal. This fine building occupies one side of the town's wide and elegant plaza. Lady St. Mary Church, Wareham Number of views as of 6th June 2018 = 290. The Grade 1 listed Lady St. Mary Church (in the town of Wareham, Dorset, England) is built in the Norman Gothic style, but its origins go back a few centuries earlier to Saxon times. The church is the burial place of Beorhtric, the Saxon King of Wessex from AD 786 to 802. The town of Wareham is much older still, with evidence of human settlement dating back 11,000 years or more. The parish church of St Lawrence at Hungerford in Berkshire, England. The church stands slightly to the west of the town alongside the Kennet and Avon Canal. It was rebuilt in 1814 in the Regency Gothic style and was faced with Bath stone which was brought along the canal. A little later, in mid-Victorian times it was further renovated. The canal was constructed between 1794 and 1810 to link Bristol with London via Reading. Abandoned in the early 1900s, it was renovated and reopened in 1990.

The Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church is also known as "Jesuit Church". The church is located downtown New Orleans, LA and was completed in 1930. There are many stained glass windows depicting Jesuit saints. The pews are made of cast iron. Immaculate Conception church was built and designed in the Neo-Venetian Gothic style of Gothic Revival architecture, with Moorish Revival and Byzantine Revival elements.
