How can I improve on the perfect moon?? Just added a little accent swirls to focus attention. Got so excited by the pretty moon & involved with my exposure settings etc. that I did not notice the Poison Ivy tapping me on the head as I took this!! Over just a few days these Omphalotus illudens (aka O. olearius) quite took over my yard. I suppose they are an early death knell for a stump that I have been landscaping for a few years. This was taken on a cloudy, rainy day May, 2014 at McKinney Bay on Lake Tahoe. The rain was steady all day and you couldn't see the other side of the lake. This pier appeared to vanish into the distance.

This is a sweet little waterfall. But as you can see from the picture, it's actually a grand stone chamber. It's easy to overlook that, there at the falls, enjoying the rocks and focusing on the many beautiful details. This mama heron had 8 little chicks she was desperately trying to keep us away from. She succeeded, too... I never got close enough for a really good image of the babies. When I first ventured into photography, 20 years ago, flowers were my obsession. That's original, huh? But the fact is, they're always lovely, patient models. On the way to a portrait session with these two darling sisters, I grabbed my old tea set from childhood. It was a whim, mostly by accident because my photo props and old-stuff-in-storage are on the same shelves in the garage. How happy when I noticed that the 2 yr old had a darling little dress with teacups on it!! Honest, this wasn't planned!
