Armed with a sketchbook and pens, I recently challenged myself to complete the 3000km Tour Aotearoa, sketching all 30 of the official photo checkpoints. I drew in rain, wind and bbq-hot temperatures, always aware that I had to keep riding on before it got dark! I'm super happy with the results and hope you enjoy them too. I got this shot after a climb up a small hill on the Kaikoura Peninsula that was a little harder than I expected. I ended up having to hold on to the fence to pull myself up the steep path because otherwise, for every step I took, I slid back the equivalent of two steps on the loose, parched soil. However, as you can see, the view at the top was definitely worth it!
