A warrior does not give up what she loves, she finds the love in what she does.

Viking shield maidens were both beautiful and tough, willing to mix it up and prove they were just as good at fighting as the men. Whether raiding or defending their lands, they were there with shield and axe or sword.

Valkyries were female Norse mythological figures who picked from the slain in the battlefield to bring them to Odin's hall of Valhalla. In the archaeological record there are multiple examples of Valkyries, including used as brooches. I've based my design on a variety of those brooches from the Viking era, recreating it as a block carving then printing and scanning it.
