This is an old building just outside of evergreen Colorado.

This is my painting of an inspirational view in the mountains. The mountains seem to almost disappear on the horizon. Ash, birch and evergreen trees are plentiful. At this point in the road, you must slow down for a blind corner. Right below the couple’s love initials that have been carved into the tree are bear claw marks.

We were on a two-day journey on the Rocky Mountaineer from Denver to Moab, travelling through the astonishing red rock scenery. I'm not certain, but I think this image was captured about halfway between Denver and Glenwood Springs. What struck me as I pressed the button was the extraordinary combination colours: the deep, deep blue of the sky, the wonderful red colouring of the rocks, and the luminescent green of the trees. It was quite the spectacle.
