A red hurdy gurdy drawn in fineliner and then edited in 3D Paint. The design is based on a traditional lute back instrument and the insect designs are added for effect with the cockshafer beetle near the crank. This instrument creates a buzzing sound when played and the insects are added to reflect that idea.

This image is inspired by the carved head of a hurdy gurdy which is a stringed instrument that produces sound by a hand crank-turned wheel.

A pile of hurdy gurdies design inspired by a friend. Parts of the hurdy gurdy include wheel, strings, tangents, wheel cover and knob. The hurdy gurdy can be an excellent instrument to dance to along with the bagpipes.
