Fishing for Tarpon is American as apple pie down south, if you fish, and like a challenge nothing like a tarpon to give you a fight of your life... an American tradition at it finest, USA loves a great challenge. this is big game fishing

It is also known as the oxeye herring or simply herring, is the smaller of the two species of tarpon and lives in Indo-Pacific waters. Their usual habitat is in coastal waters, estuaries and many miles upstream (from the estuaries) in freshwater rivers and lakes. They are amphidromus, i.e. they migrate from the river to the sea, and from the sea to the river. Those living in fresh water tend to be smaller than the ones living in saltwater, growing just over 50 cm (20 in), while saltwater examples grow over 1 m (3.3 ft).

The Atlantic tarpon (Megalops atlanticus) is a staple sport fish, large enough they can even be fed by hand like dolphins.
