Gambler Chassis Co. designed what would become one of the most popular new outlaw sprint racing chassis designs in decades in 1980. The chassis thoughtfully laid out to be both extremely rigid and modular for repair work or even customization. The success of the Gambler-based cars led to countless copycats and many of the original design features are now standard among modern chassis builders. While Gambler built sprint cars are long out of production, most of those they made are still tearing up the track and are hardly sought after by racers, so when one comes up for sale, it's safe to say that it doesn't stay on the market for very long.

This Pennsylvania-based performance legend started out as a maker of motor mounts for engine swaps and floor-shifters back in 1958, but they steadily expanded their product line through the 1960s. Hurst wheels, Line/Loc, and Swifter Shifter gloves were developed among other items, and later, Airheart Brakes and the Schiefer Manufacturing Company, which made clutches and other driveline components, were acquired. Hurst Performance floor-shifters were skillfully engineered, reliable and stirring in appearance, plus, their marketing was in tune with the times, catering to the flourishing muscle car movement of the 1960s. Their shifters infiltrated the drag racing, stock car racing, off-road racing and many other areas of motorsports.

It was Don Blair’s interest in racing the dry lakes that prompted him to opening a small business selling speed parts. If any business contributed to hot rodding in Southern California, it was Blair’s Speed Shop in Gardena where 25-year-old Don opened for business in 1946. From the early days of doing tune-ups and selling used parts to building legendary engines and complete funny cars, Don Blair left an indelible mark on the world of hot rodding.

After messing around with friend's midget racers, LaVern Nance fielded a series of his own home-brewed supermodifieds and as store bought racing parts weren't a thing in those days, he made his own. Much to everyone's surprise, his cars would run up an impressive string of victories against even the most well sponsored competitors. Sprint car fever bit Nance in the early '70s, and he had built his first sprint car in '72 - a meticulously constructed black outlaw racer that would dominate racetracks everywhere. The more Nance won, the more people wanted his speed parts, so in 1973, Nance Speed Equipment was born, and he began selling his machined parts as well as advanced chassis kits and complete roller packages.

Stock car racer Robert Newton wanted to design a tire compound to gain an advantage against fellow racers. This was done by retreading street tires in order to obtain a compound that would adequately gain enough traction. Using an abandoned barn in his home state of Indiana to start his business, he began sales to local racers, making him the first producer of specialty tires for competition use.
