Walking along the Thames Path, a designated long distance National trail. This scene is at Lechlade on the section of the path between Halfpenny Bridge and St John's Lock the first (or last) on the Thames. Here moored boats are visited by inquisitive cattle! Lechlade, a picturesque market town at the southern end of the Cotswolds marks the highest navigable pont on the river. Above here it soon becomes narrower and shallower - no place for river boats!!

The view from Blea Moor Road (B6255) near the Ribblehead Viaduct. Here we look across the Yorkshire Dales towards Pen y Ghent late in the afternoon in early July. At 2277ft (694m) this is the smallest of the three peaks of the Dales , the other two being Whernside and Ingleborough. Approaching the picturesque village of Sulham in West Berkshire. The walk has taken us across the meadows from Tidmarsh and we are about to cross the Sul Brook before entering the village. Behind the lovely old thatched cottage ahead is Sulham Wood - an area of mixed woodland edged here by beechwoods. To our left along the narrow lane is Pangbourne and behind us Tidmarsh. The image has a coloured pencil art finish.

Looking out over the beautiful Thames Valley from the North Wessex (or Berkshire) Downs. This view was captured just above Streatley-on-Thames and looks north towards the Chiltern Hills. This is an area of lush farmland. Cultivated fields lie next to green meadows - frequently inhabited by sheep.
