Cougars Hats
Description: The Carolina Cougars began as the Houston Mavericks, charter members of the American Basketball Association (ABA) in 1967. The club relocated to North Carolina in 1969, splitting home games between Charlotte, Raleigh, and Greensboro. The latter is where they played most of their games and had their offices. In advance of a possible merger with the NBA, the team was moved in 1974 and became the Spirits of St. Louis.
Description: The Long Island Cougars were a minor league professional ice hockey team that played at the Long Island Arena in Commack, New York, from 1973 to 1975. The Cougars were a member of the North American Hockey League, and were runners up for the Lockhart Trophy to the Syracuse Blazers in the 1973–74 season. After the 1974-75 season, they would move to Pennsylvania and become the Erie Blades, who enjoyed much more on-ice success.
