Description: Remembering Pinky Lee. In 1954 The Pinky Lee Show premiered on NBC as the first variety show for children. Lee opened his shows with a song-and-dance number that started with the greeting “Yoo hoo, its me! My name is Pinky Lee!” In 1955 Lee collapsed on camera due to an infection. His normal antics were so energetic that apparently the cameraman and the show's director assumed the fall was an ad lib part of his performance. The audience continued their enthusiastic cheering and applause. This effectively ended his leading role on the show, which continued without him until June 9, 1956. He was the inspiration for the Pee Wee Herman character.

We all thought those episodes were from 1989 at the LATEST and we all felt the collective horror realizing they are from 2014! FOURTEEN! only 4 years ago guys. Anyway, we're a fan and are pleasantly surprised at how much more we know now than when we watched as kids. Does anyone else miss commercial breaks?

Contestants are selected from the studio audience: the announcer calls their name, invoking them to "Come on down!", the show's famous catchphrase.
Description: The Dating Game was an American TV game show that first aired on December 20, 1965, and was created and packaged by Chuck Barris. The network dropped the show on July 6, 1973, but it continued in syndication for another year as The New Dating Game and was revived three more times in '78, '86, and '96. Each episode started with a bachelorette that would question three bachelors, who were hidden from her view; at the end of the questioning period, she would choose one to accompany her on a date, with expenses paid by the show. Occasionally, the roles would be reversed with a man questioning three ladies; other times, celebrities would question three players for dates for themselves, co-workers or relatives.
