Description: Inspired by apple coral and gaspeite corn maiden carvings. These Zuni maidens wear a tabletta headdress used in ceremonial dances depicting the Corn Maiden, who represents the gift of life given by the Great Spirit.

Description: This is my acrylic painting of ears of calico corn, sometimes known as Indian corn, flint corn or maize. I love the colorful kernels of corn and how these ears of corn are used as a fall decoration. I painted the colorful corn on toned tan paper to go with the fall theme. Some vividly colored corn cobs are lined up against a warm, earthy background. Each cob is adorned with a unique pattern of colors, topped with vibrant, feathery husks.
