Description: A new addition to my Gothic Western set of paintings. I've been wanting to get back into this set for a while but between commissions and poster art I've not found the time. So this piece is inspired by the lyric 'On Horses Snortin' Fire' from the classic country western tale of 'Riders in the Sky' On listening carefully to the lyrics, that one gripped my imagination and the idea of a skeletal figure riding on a semi-skeletal horse, and a flurry of flames billowing from it's nostrils really took to me. So I began sketching out what I had in mind, the figure of Death riding on this horse at it rears into the sky will an expressionist approach to painting depicting this flamethrower of energy coming from it's face.
