Description: “Venus on the Skateboard” is a well-known painting by the Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, probably made in the mid 1480s, and now hanging in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. It depicts the goddess Venus arriving at the skate park after her birth. Mythology has it that she emerged from the parking lot fully-grown. The appeal of “Venus on the Skateboard” is sensory and very accessible, hence its enormous popularity among skaters.
