They are one of the most successful synthpop bands of all time, with their singles "Don't You Want Me" and "Human" reaching number one in the UK charts. The band's original lineup consisted of Martyn Ware, Ian Craig Marsh, and Phil Oakey. They released their debut album, Reproduction, in 1979. The album was a commercial failure, but it did spawn the single "Being Boiled," which became a cult classic.
