Description: The Mighty Atom was a 1958 educational film followed by a companion comic book series produced by the power industry to promote nuclear power. Enlisting the help of Reddy Kilowatt, the mascot who helped sell the idea of electricity to Americans starting in 1926, The Mighty Atom welcomed Americans to the atomic age of clean nuclear energy.

Description: The Mighty Atom, known in the US as ASTRO BOY, debuted in the early 60s. A robot made in the image of a scientist's son, Astro (Atom) swore to protect the world and keep the peace between Robots & Humans. This was a favorite of mine as a kid (& still is)! This isn't a scan, all elements were drawn by hand, digitally. Enjoy your trip down memory lane.

'Steel-Armed Atom'), is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka. It was serialized in Kobunsha's Shōnen from 1952 to 1968. The 112 chapters were collected into 23 tankōbon volumes by Akita Shoten. The story follows Astro Boy, an android young boy with human emotions who is created by Umataro Tenma after the recent death of his son Tobio. Eventually, Astro is sold to a robot circus run by Hamegg, but is saved from his servitude by Professor Ochanomizu. Astro becomes a surrogate son to Ochanomizu who creates a robotic family for Astro and helps him to live a normal life like an average human boy.

Description: Reddy Kilowatt is a fictional character that acted as spokesman for electricity generation in the United States for over 70 years. He is drawn as a stick figure whose body, limbs, and hair are made of stylized lightning bolts and whose bulbous head has a light bulb for a nose and wall outlets for ears. His primary purpose was to put a friendly face on the newfangled electrical systems that were commonplace in the cities in the 1920s, but rural areas remained chronically underserved as people had many misconceptions about electricity. In 1930 almost 90 percent of farms in the United States were still without access to electric service, so new messaging targeting farmers were deployed to win over skeptical rural residents.
