On April 1, 1970, after just one season, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin before being renamed as the Brewers. The "Pilots" name originated from the owner's part-time job as a harbor pilot and the city's association with the aviation industry. Description: The Seattle Pilots were a short-lived but iconic Major League Baseball team based in Seattle, Washington. As members of the American League's West Division, the Pilots played their only season in 1969 at Sick's Stadium. The team name, “Pilots,” reflected both the city’s deep ties to aviation and team owner Dewey Soriano’s experience as a harbor pilot. Description: The Seattle Pilots were a short-lived Major League Baseball franchise competing in the American League West Division. Playing their home games out of Sick's Stadium, the team lasted just one year before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 1, 1970, and rebranding as the Brewers. Their unique name honored the local aviation industry as well as the owner's background as a harbor pilot. Decorated in royal blue and gold—with touches of red in their logo—the franchise emerged from a city already famous for minor league baseball, having long hosted the Pacific Coast League's celebrated Seattle Rainiers.

With countless aircraft models hanging from the ceiling and artifacts donated by commercial and military pilots who frequented the establishment, the place was filled with eye candy that was almost as good as the food.
