Description: Wellerman - Soon May the Wellerman Come, also known as The Wellerman, is a folk song in ballad style. It was first published in New Zealand in the 1970s. The "wellermen" were supply ships owned by the Weller brothers who were the founders of multiple whaling stations in South Island, most notably on Otago Harbour, and were New Zealand's most substantial merchant traders in the 1830s.
