Royal Scot was built in 1927 by London Midland & Scottish Railway for the express service from London to Birmingham, Manchester through to Glasgow. She was chosen to appear on behalf of Britain at the 1933 'Century of Progress' exhibition in the USA and toured the USA and Canada covering 11 194 miles.
