El Lugar de Papá (Papa's Place) opened their doors in 1936 in the town of Mezcala, in Jalisco, Mexico, and has been going strong ever since. Originally just a bar where locals and those passing through town could enjoy the region's finest tequilas, Papa eventually added a small kitchen, and began offering an array of traditional tacos and other small plate menu items.
