The 6 guns from the 52nd Field Artillery Battalion played a critical part in slowing the North Korean Armored attack in the Battle of Osan Korea. There was a limited number of HEAT shells for the unit's 105 mm howitzers, crew-served weapons that could defeat T-34/85 tanks from the Soviet Union, had not been distributed to the US Army forces in Korea.

The 202nd ADA's heritage goes back to WWI and WWII and the unit earned Croix de Guerre with Palm for its actions. This Illinois National Guard regiment was stood down during the Global War on Terror and converted to Cavalry.

The 56th Field Artillery Command was a brigade size element of the United States Army. The unit was constituted in 1942 with the last period of active service being 1970 through 1991. It was the only unit to field the nuclear Pershing missile system. This unique mission required an almost "Super Brigade" status which the Army accommodated in several regards. Their inactivation in June 1991 was in some measure a consequence of their own success. The culmination of their duties was to act, as directed, in accordance with the INF Treaty, as the United States eliminated her intermediate range nuclear forces.

The 20th Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army constituted 1 July 1916 in the Regular Army. It served in France during the First World War with the 5th Division, at St. Mihiel and Lorraine before inactivation on 5 September 1921 at Camp Bragg, North Carolina. The regiment's distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 20th Field Artillery on March 28, 1933. It was redesignated as 20th Field Artillery Battalion on August 12, 1948; redesignated as 20th Artillery on June 13, 1958; and redesignated for the 20th Field Artillery on September 1, 1971. Currently, the regiment has only a single battalion on active service; the 2nd Battalion.

The 1st Air Defense Artillery's lineage goes back to the War of 1812 and the original batteries defended Fort Sumter and Fort Pickens. Obviously things didn't go so well at Sumter but Fort Pickens remained in Union hands throughout the Civil War.

The 25th Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army, first constituted 5 July 1918 in the National Army (USA). Although the regiment did not see action during World War I, elements participated in World War II, Vietnam, Panama (including Operation Just Cause), the Gulf War, and the Global War on Terrorism. Currently the regiment one active battalion, a towed light artillery units equipped with the M119A3 105mm Howitzer and the M777A2 155mm Howitzer. The 5th Battalion is assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Polk, Louisiana. The 4th Battalion was inactivated on 14 August 2014.

The 9th Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army first formed in 1916. The 460th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion (460th PFAB) was an airborne field artillery battalion of the United States Army that saw active service during World War II. Active from 1943–1946, the battalion trained with the 17th Airborne Division; served with the 517th Parachute Regimental Combat Team in the Italian Campaign, Operation Dragoon, and the Battle of the Bulge; and ended the war assigned to the 13th Airborne Division before inactivation.

The 78th Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army. Initially activated on 1 July 1916, the 78th Field Artillery Battalion did not see action in World War I, but would later be reactivated at the start of World War II and participate in the campaigns for Algeria-French Morocco, Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes-Alsace, Central Europe, and the Rhineland with the 2d Armored Division. The 24th Field Artillery Regiment (Philippine Scouts) (24th FA (PS)) was a Philippine Scouts unit, part of the US Army's Philippine Division, formed in 1922 and active until April 1942. Antecedent units dated back to 1899.

On 19 April 1968, the 2nd Battalion of the 138th was deployed to Vietnam to provide fire support to the 101st Airborne Division in northern South Vietnam. The 81st Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army. 1st Battalion, 81st Field Artillery Regiment. The 1st Missile Battalion, 81st Artillery was formed at Fort Sill in 1963 and deployed to McCully Barracks in Wackernheim, West Germany under the 56th Field Artillery Group. The battalion moved to Wiley Barracks, Neu-Ulm in 1968 and was redesignated the 1st Battalion, 81st Field Artillery Regiment effective 1 September 1971. It was initially equipped with eight Pershing 1 missiles and in 1969 replaced these with 36 Pershing 1a missiles. Service Battery was inactivated and reflagged as B Company, 55th Maintenance Battalion in 1982.

The 39th Field Artillery Regiment Serving with the 3rd Infantry Division, the Regiment would earn a dozen campaign streamers (out of sixteen campaigns in that theater) from action in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater during World War II, four of them with a coveted Arrowhead device indicating the Regiment’s planned participation in an assault landing. On 16 September 1941, the 45th Infantry Division was federalized from state control into the regular army force. It was one of four National Guard divisions to be federalized, Assigned to the division were the 158th, 160th, 171st, and 189th Field Artillery Battalions. On 1 September 1950, the 45th Infantry Division was activated as the first National Guard division to be deployed to Korean War.

The 38th Field Artillery Regiment is a field artillery regiment of the United States Army. 38th Field Artillery Battalion on 8 July 1941 along with a unit motto, “Steel Behind The Rock.’ It was redesignated to reflect the unit’s changing status, first as the 38th Artillery Regiment in 1958 and then fore the 38th Field Artillery in 1971. Its shield is red, the branch color of Artillery. A combination of three pallets and eight artillery shells denotes the numerical designation of the unit. The crest of the insignia contains Mt. Rainier, emblematic of Washington State where the Regiment was originally formed, and a star that stands for Texas, the location of Fort Sam Houston where the unit was organized and redesignated before World War II.

Under enemy fire, the Division secured the beachhead and fought into the Lingayen Plain by 12 February. The offensive was resumed against the enemy north and west of Fort Stotsenburg, 27 February. After ending Japanese resistance in the Zambales Mountains with help from the Philippine Commonwelth army forces, the 43d swung south against the Shimbu Line.
