I've taken a bunch of photos of this site. This might be my favourite.

The Barbican Estate was built between 1965 and 1976, on a site that had been bombed in World War II. The complex was designed by architects Chamberlin Powell and Bon, photographed here are the three towers of the Barbican scheme; Cromwell, Shakespeare and Lauderdale tower.

The Barbican was such a large job for the firm they set up a sub-practice to deal with it!

The Barbican is the name now given to the western and northern sides of the old harbour area of Plymouth, Devon, England. It was one of the few parts of the city to escape most of the destruction of The Blitz during the Second World War. Two or three streets still retain some of the architecture of an old fishing port.

This image is of the medieval barbican gate to Coimbra. Through the gate are the old streets that wend their up through the old city. The evening was warm, and made to feel warmer because of the incandescent lighting. A thoroughly pleasant evening. I hope you also enjoy its warmth.
