Nystrom was a hard-working right wing on the early 1980s Islanders dynasty, a four-time Stanley Cup champion. He is best remembered for scoring the overtime goal that won the 1980 Cup, the first of the four. He was known as Mr. Islander for his grit and loyalty to one franchise.
